The film, starring Kamal Hassan in the titular role and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was released worldwide on June 3
Disney+ Hotstar is all set to premiere Kamal Haasan' latest outing, Vikram, on its platform on July 8. The action-packed entertainer will have its digital debut worldwide, following its overwhelming response to its Indian and international theatrical release in June.
Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Vikram stars Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya in a special appearance. The supporting cast includes Narain, Chemban Jose Vinod, Gayathrie Shankar, Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram to name a few. The film recorded a blockbuster opening with positive reviews from critics and audiences. It continues to break records across regions and is going strong in theaters. Vikram has emerged as one of the highest grossers of Tamil cinema, beating SS Rajamouli's Bahubali 2: The Conclusion. The collection worldwide has already surpassed the 400 crore mark.
Viewers will be now able to enjoy Kamal Haasan’s fierce look and charisma, Fahadh Faasil’s sparkling performance, Vijay Sethupathi’s terrorizing antagonist act, and Suriya’s captivating cameo, all from the comfort of their homes. Adding to their experience of watching the film’s OTT premiere will be the breathtaking visuals of Girish Gangadharan and the spellbinding musical score by Anirudh Ravichander. Buoyed by the success of the film, Kamal Haasan, whose production house Raj Kamal Films International has bankrolled the film, went on to shower his team with lavish gifts. The team also had a success meet for the crew where Kamal Haasan said that it was the effort of each and every person on the set that made the film a huge success.
The NFTs of the film were launched at the Cannes Film Festival for which Kamal Haasan himself was present. Even as the film is all set to enter its sixth of release, it still gets decent footfalls in theatres, which is a huge achievement for any film. Vikram will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi from July 8, 2022.
