In a heartfelt letter that was released on the eve of the film's release, Lokesh had written, "This is the most emotional I've ever felt before the release of my film. As I can remember, ever since I was a kid, I loved Ulaganayagan the most. This is a surreal experience for me, that I am directing a film in his honour. I thank all the kind souls who made this possible. It has been 18 months since I started working on Vikram. As a team, we have shed blood and sweat (quite literally) for this film in order to entertain you, our audiences, and to celebrate One Man, the pride of our Nation, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. It's a great honour to have the opportunity to direct you, sir. The film is a gift to you from a fanboy! I will cherish these moments forever (sic)," he had written.
The supporting cast of the film includes Narain, Gayathrie Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Arjun Das and Chemban Jose Vinod to name a few. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander. Anirudh, too, had shared a tweet about his experience working on the film, a day before its release. His tweet read, "Starting from Beast to KRK to Don to now, Vikram. Your love for all the music for all these films has what has made us do this. Impossible without our maverick music team and musicians. Hope you guys enjoy Vikram from tomorrow as much as we enjoyed working on it. As I always say, miles to go (sic)."
