Kamal was one of the first superstars in the south to congratulate Shah Rukh Khan after Pathaan became a huge draw at cinemas across India.
Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan watched a special screening of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest blockbuster Pathaan. The screening took place in Chennai and Kamal was accompanied by his family and friends. Actor Jayashree took to her Instagram page to share her excitement after she watched Pathaan along with Kamal.
"Okay I have to confess I watched Pathaan again! But this time it was by invitation, to a special show hosted for the very actor who brought this genre of action films to Kollywood with the‘Vikram’ series and the ‘Vishwaroopam’ series of films, delivering a brilliant cast, execution and entertaining narrative. I even thought Dimple Kapadia might’ve been cast in Pathaan for that reason!," she wrote while sharing the pictures of herself with Kamal, Suhasini Maniratnam and Shobana.
Jayashree also shared the details of her nostalgic-heavy conversation with Kamal. "But enough of this and now to these pictures that reveal what makes today’s Pathan showing exceptional.. the family connection starts with my mother’s older sister Prema and Kamal (sir’s) older sister Nalini being closest of friends in school. With Suhasini and her sis Nandini his neices, we chatted with him before and during the interval. He remembered my aunt, the humorous nicknames he had for her and fondly recalled many memories of those days. I felt a lot of respect and adulation for him, and so happy to have come full circle. Looking forward to many many more from Kalaimamani Padmashri Padmabhushan Chevalier Dr. Kamalhasan (sic)," she wrote.

Kamal and Shah Rukh shared screen space in the historical drama Hey Ram (2000).
Pathaan have a much-needed break to Bollywood as the industry was struggling to find relevance with the movie-going audience in post-pandemic India. The movie opened to packed houses worldwide on January 26 and collected over Rs 100 crore on its opening day. The film's worldwide gross is fast nearing the Rs 900 crore mark.
