Indian 2 is gearing up for release! After the hit 1996 film Indian, in which Kamal Haasan played the iconic Senapathy role, the actor is set to reprise his character once again in the upcoming film. With the film releasing on July 12, Kamal Haasan has already hyped up the stakes on Indian 3, by making a bold statement on how he prefers the third part over the second.
Kamal Haasan who is currently touring the nation to promote Indian 3, has already revealed along with the makers that are third part of the film is in the making. In an event held recently as part of Indian 2 promotions, Kamal Haasan spilled out the reason why he accepted to do Indian 2.
“Truth be told, the only reason why I accepted to do the second part is because of the third part only. I am a big fan of the third part. Usually, people say that they like the first half or second half of the film better than the first half. My second half is Indian 3. I have been applauding the film by myself and I am only tensed that the wait for it is six more months,” Kamal Haasan said.
Indian 2 is also directed by Shankar and features a huge star cast. Actors Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore and Deepa Shankar, among others are part of the cast.

Indian is a vigilante action drama. The film is available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. The film featured Kamal Haasan in dual roles, a father and son duo. Kamal Haasan’s Senapathy, a former freedom fighter who wants to eliminate corruption in modern society, became an iconic character in Tamil cinema over time.
