Kamal Haasan, the legendary actor, made a massive comeback to films in 2022 with the blockbuster movie Vikram. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial redefined how veteran superstars are presented in the Indian films by featuring the Ulaganayagan as a skilled secret agent and a doting grandfather. It was indeed a surprising and powerful move in Indian cinema, where the superstars are usually seen romancing actresses half their age. Kamal Haasan is now setting the bar so high for his contemporary stars by opting for age-appropriate roles.

Kamal Haasan ages gracefully onscreen

After he made a grand comeback with the blockbuster movie Vikram, Kamal Haasan has been consciously opting for age-appropriate roles. The legend’s decision to play his age onscreen and go against the usual industry norms came out as a big surprise for his fans and cine-goers. Many superstars in the South film industry even refuse to sport grey hair onscreen, and this creative choice by the multi-faceted talent is unarguably inspiring.

However, Kamal Haasan’s decision to play the characters of his age hereafter was not limited to Vikram. As you may know, the veteran actor reportedly plays the lead antagonist Supreme Yaskin, a heavily aged yet powerful man in the upcoming futuristic sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD. The legend’s unrecognizable look in the recently released trailers of the Prabhas-starrer has stunned the audiences. As per the reports, the legend has a brief yet important role in the Nag Ashwin directorial.
