Billed as a family drama, the film directed by Aswin Raam will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar,
Thyagarajan, Aswin, Kamal and Adhi
It was announced a few days ago that Hip Hop Tamizha Adhi's Anbarivu directed by debutant Aswin Raam, will have a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. Though there were speculation about the same from the last few months, the makers had announced it officially without mentioning its release date.
They have now resorted to a unique way to release its trailer and promote the movie in an innovative manner. Adhi, director Aswin and producer TG Thyagarajan came together in an episode of Bigg Boss Tamil along with its host Kamal Haasan to unveil the trailer. The social media handle of the production house posted pictures of the four of them posing for pictures in the Bigg Boss studio.
The two-minute trailer has Adhi playing two roles - the separated twins Anbu and Arivu - while the former grew up with his grandfather, played by Napolean, the latter grew up abroad. How they get together after leading separated life for several years forms the crux of the story.
Interestingly, Adhi's previous outing, Sivakumarin Sabadham which was also premiered on Disney+ Hotstar, revolved around grandfather-grandson relationship. Viddharth, Saikumar, Asha Sharath, Kashmira, Shivani Rajshekar, Dheena and Arjai among others play key roles in this family drama. Viddharth is seen sporting dual appearances in the film's trailer.
Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, Anbarivu has cinematography by Madhesh Manickam and editing by Pradeep E Raghav. Pradeep Dinesh has choreographed action scenes while Pon Parthiban has penned the dialogues for the movie. The film marks the second collaboration of Adhi and Sathya Jyothi Films.
The actor-musician's untitled upcoming project, too, is bankrolled by the production house. The movie, which is Adhi's sixth project as an actor, is being directed by debutant ARK Saravan.
