Kalvan OTT partner revealed - THIS streaming giant has acquired rights for GV Prakash Kumar-starrer

GV Prakash Kumar-starrer Kalvan, which is directed by PV Shankar, has been one of the most long-awaited films which is yet to zero on its release date. In the latest update, it has been revealed that the GV Prakash-starrer’s streaming and satellite rights have been sold. The film’s theatrical release date is yet to be announced.

According to the latest post shared by the makers of the film, the OTT streaming rights have been sold to Disney+ Hotstar, while the satellite rights have been acquired by Vijay television.

Headlined by actor-composer GV Prakash Kumar, the movie also stars Ivana and ace filmmaker Bharathiraja in lead roles. The movie’s teaser was released in 2023, but viewers have been awaiting the film’s release ever since. Jointly written by PV Shankar and Ramesh Aiyappan, the movie is touted to be a rural film which was entirely shot in Kadampur’s Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. Going by the teaser, the film depicts the story of the people of a village in a forest area who are terrorised by an elephant.

Interestingly, director PV Shankar himself is the cinematographer for the film, and the lead G V Prakash is composing the music. The composer-turned actor and Ivana had earlier worked together in the Bala directorial Naachiyar. Bankrolled by G Dilli Babu under the banner of Axess Film Factory, the movie is set to release soon.

GV Prakash’s upcoming projects

Meanwhile, the actor has quite an interesting lineup of projects in his kitty, including his 25th film Kingston. He will also be seen as a lead in Rebel, helmed by debutant director Nikesh RS, which has Malayalam actress Mamita Baiju as the leading lady. Touted to be a political drama, the film is set against the backdrop of communism. The story takes place in Kerala, hence the audience can expect some Malayalam references as well in the narration.
