Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most awaited films in Telugu cinema and is all set to hit the screens on June 27, 2024. Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame is directing this superhero film, which has Prabhas and Deepika Padukone as the main leads.

Shobana to play a key role in Kalki 2898 AD

We at OTTplay were the first ones to reveal that popular heroine Mrunal Thakur will be seen in a special role in the film. This news is confirmed as Mrunal has already shot for her cameo. Now, the news is that yesteryear actress Shobana is also a part of this film. The legendary actress is supposed to be seen as Prabhas's mom, as per the news.

Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan also play key roles in this film, which is being produced by Vyjayanthi Movies on a massive budget of Rs 400 crores. Post-production is happening in various countries, and the team is racing against time to make this film release on schedule.

Prabhas' remuneration for Kalki 2898 AD

Half of the film's budget has been spent on the remunerations of the actors. Prabhas has been paid a whopping Rs 150 crore, and Kamal Haasan has been paid Rs 50 crore. Vyjayanthi Movies is not leaving any stone unturned and is releasing the film in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Santhosh Narayanan is composing music for this film, whose OTT rights have been bagged by Netflix. An animated series, Bujji & Bhairava, is also streaming now on Amazon Prime Video. The makers plan to launch the trailer on a massive scale in the days to come. Disha Patani will also play a key role in the film.
