Dulquer Salmaan, the popular Malayalam actor is celebrating his birthday today. Along with the fans and well-wishers, the pan-Indian star’s industry friends and colleagues also showered him with warm wishes, on social media. The actor, who recently made a comeback to silver screens with the blockbuster film Kalki 2898 AD received a special birthday surprise from the team Kalki 2898 AD, recently. The makers of Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s film shared a special making video from the sets of the film, to wish their ‘Captain’ on his birthday.

The makers of Kalki 2898 AD, Vyajayanthi Movies revealed a lovely making video from the sets of the film, on the special occasion of Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday. “Birthday wishes to our beloved @dulQuer, the CAPTAIN from KALKI Cinematic Universe!” reads the social media post of the legendary production banner. The popular star, who is overwhelmed with the sweet gesture from the makers, reshared the post on his Instagram handle with a caption that reads: “OMG!! Love this! And love you all @vyjayanthimovies... Extra extra (hugs, red hearts, and kisses) to @nag_ashwin @swapnaduttchalasani @priyankacdutt and my beloved #duttgaru”

In the exciting making video, Dulquer Salmaan, who made a cameo appearance as Bhairava’s adopted father Captain in Kalki 2898 AD, is seen having a fun time on the sets of the film. From the actor’s preparations to get into the role, creating his look, rehearsing fight sequences, and discussions with the team, the interesting video showcases some of his best moments from the sets.

Dulquer Salmaan’s role in Kalki 2898 AD

As mentioned earlier, Dulquer Salmaan appeared in the role of Captain, a pilot who saves an infant Bhairava, who was orphaned at a war. He brings him up like his own son and trains him in all kinds of fights, and in almost everything. However, Bhairava and Captain part ways after the duo sell each other to Supreme Yaskin’s Complex, for a huge number of units. Even though Dulquer’s role in the film is limited, the cine-goers believe that his character might return in the sequels.

The fan theories suggest that Captain is actually Lord Parasurama, the sixth avatar of Maha Vishnu. The film fanatics point out how the character is seen never aging in the film, as Bhairava grows older. Director Nag Ashwin later hinted that Dulquer Salmaan’s character might return in the sequels, as it has a lot of potential. However, the filmmaker further added that nothing is finalised yet.
