Deepika Padukone’s second character poster from Kalki 2898 AD, the Prabhas-starrer, directed by Nag Ashwin, is finally out. The Bollywood star is playing a character that symbolizes hope in the film.

Kalki 2898 AD, the highly anticipated epic futuristic science-fiction film which stars Prabhas in the lead role, is gearing up for its grand theatrical release. The movie, directed by Nag Ashwin, revolves around a dystopian society that lives in Kashi (Varanasi) of India, in 2898 AD. Deepika Padukone, the popular Bollywood star, is making her Telugu cinema debut with Kalki 2898 AD. The leading lady’s much-awaited second character poster from the film is finally out on social media.

Deepika Padukone symbolizes hope in the new Kalki 2898 AD poster

The celebrated Bollywood actress recently took to his official social media handles and revealed her second character poster from Kalki 2898 AD, along with an interesting hint on her role in the film. “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫. #Kalki2898AD trailer out tomorrow,” wrote Deepika Padukone, on her Instagram post. The new poster of the Prabhas-starrer came out as a big relief for the fans and followers of the Bollywood star, who have been upset about not getting enough updates on her role in the film.

Notably, the makers have kept the name of Deepika’s character in the film and other details under wraps. The Kalki 2898 AD glimpse video which was released in 2023, hinted that the celebrated actress is playing the role of a determined young woman from a dystopian society that is facing dark times, in the highly anticipated Nag Ashwin directorial. Deepika Padukone is seen in a brand-new avatar, with a short hairdo and no make-up look in the posters of the film, that have been released so far.

Kalki 2898 AD characters – Here's what we know

Prabhas, the leading man is set to play the protagonist Bhairava, in the film. Legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is playing the character Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD. Kamal Haasan is reportedly appearing as the lead antagonist in the film. Deepika Padukone is playing the female lead, while Disha Patani makes an extended cameo appearance.

Many popular stars of the South film industry, including SS Rajamouli, Dulquer Salmaan (reportedly appearing in the role of Varaaha), Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur, Anna Ben, and others are making special appearances in the film. Keerthy Suresh lends her voice to BU-JZ-1 alias Bujji, Bhairava’s companion. Saswata Chatterjee, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, and others appear in the supporting roles.
