Kalidas, Tanya's web series with Kiruthiga titled Paper Rocket; makers unveil first single from the project

Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi had taken to social media on Tuesday to announce that the title of her project which has Kalidas Jayaram and Tanya Ravichandran playing lead roles will be revealed soon. She has now announced that it is a web series and that it has been titled Paper Rocket.

Renuka, Karunakaran, Nirmal Palazhi, Gouri G Kishan, Kaali Venkat and Poornima Bhagyaraj will be seen essaying key roles in the series which will drop on Zee5. The makers, however, are yet to make an announcement on its release date.

They also unveiled the first single from the movie which revolves around travelling. Titled Kaalai Maalai, the lyric video composed by Dharan Kumar features Kalidas, Renuka, Gouri, Tanya, Karunakaran and Nirmal having a whale of a time traveling to several exotic places.

The four-minute video also has BTS moments of Kiruthiga being engaged in discussions with Dharan, singer Sid Sriram and lyric writer Vivek. Sreenidhi Sagar has produced the project under Rise East Entertainment. Richard M Nathan and Lawrence Kishore have handled cinematography and editing respectively for Paper Rocket which has a background score by Simon K King. Sudesh Kumar has choreographed action scenes for the project which has dialogues written by Ashok along with Kiruthiga.

The cast and crew of Paper Rocket attended an event organized by Zee5 where they revealed more details on the project. This is Kiruthiga's OTT debut; she has earlier made Vanakkam Chennai and Kaali.

Kalidas was part of a few OTT projects in the past like Oru Pakka Kathai, Putham Pudhu Kaalai and Paava Kadhaigal. He currently has Pa Ranjith's Natchathiram Nagargirathu. On the other hand, Tanya Ravichandran has Maayon, Agilan and Nenjukku Neethi in her kitty.
