The series is said to be directed by Suparn S. Varma who has also directed Season 2 of The Family Man.
Kajol
Prominent actor Kajol is set to make her OTT series debut. The actor made her debut on the web space with the film, Tribhanga: Tedhi Medhi Crazy and now she will be seen in a series, that is said to be directed by Suparn Varma of The Family Man 2 fame.
According to Peepingmoon.com, she is gearing up for a project for Disney+ Hotstar. The show will be a female-led show where the actor will play the role of a stay-at-home mother in her 40s, who takes on the complete responsibility of her family. The project is yet to be titled and tells the story of the mother who decides to start working again for the sake of her children. The show reportedly also highlights her complicated relationship with her husband and her struggles to revive her career. A source told the entertainment portal that Kajol is excited about the show and she will start filming it in a couple of weeks in Mumbai.
The source said, "Kajol will play the role of a new-age mom for one more time, however, this show has a lot more to it than meets the eye. It’s an intense drama with crime, politics, and family all thrown in to make it an engaging watch." The show is being planned for a multi-season show and it is expected for the show to get bigger and better with Suparn Varma helming the project.
Meanwhile, Suparn has completed the Ray Donovan adaptation, Raina Naidu, starring Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati for Netflix. He is now working on the pre-production of the Kajol's show, which is expected to release on Disney+ Hotstar next year. It is being produced by Banijay Asia, the Indian arm of Paris-headquartered Banijay Group.
On the other hand, Kajol who is known to pick different and complicated characters in her projects, will next be seen in Revathi’s Salaam Venky. It is touted to be an inspiring story of a mother.
