Kajal Aggarwal, who wrapped up the shoot of Indian 2 last year, is leaving no stone unturned to complete her portions for the cop drama Satyabhama. She’s paired opposite Naveen Chandra in the film that marks the directorial debut of Suman Chikkala. Major filmmaker Shashi Kiran Tikka is the presenter and has written the screenplay for the drama, whose teaser was out recently.

The film, jointly produced by Bobby Tikka and Srinivasa Rao Takkalapalli under Aurum Arts, is nearing completion. Earlier this week, the makers finished an extensive schedule of the film, lasting over 35 days. With the completion of the schedule, 90% of the filming was wrapped up. Several scenes featuring the lead actors and action sequences were shot during this span.

Action choreographer Subbu supervised multiple high-octane action sequences in the latest schedule. Kajal is all thrilled to be a part of her first out and out action action film in her career. She admits it has been a long wait and suggested that it was Shashi Kiran Tikka’s script that convinced her to come on board. The latter’s frequent collaborator Sricharan Pakala scores the music.

In the drama, Naveen Chandra plays her on-screen husband Amarendhar, an artist who remains supportive of his wife’s professional pursuits. The film’s supporting cast comprises Prakash Raj, Nagineedu, Harshavardhan, Ravi Varma, Ankith Koyya, Sampada N, Prajwal Yadma, Neha Pathan, Anirudh Pavithran, Satya Pradeepti, Rohit Satyan and Kodati Pavan Kalyan.

Vishnu Besi is the cinematographer and the story is written by Ramesh Yadma, Prashanth Reddy Motadoo. Satyabhama may release in the first half of 2024 and is likely to hit screens before Indian 2. Naveen Chandra, who last starred in Jigarthanda Double X, also essays key roles in Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Evidence, Varun Tej’s Matka and Eleven, to name a few.
