We're nearly done with the first half of the year and Kajal Aggarwal has already had an eventful 2021. She made her digital debut with the Disney+ Hotstar's Tamil horror show Live Telecast and was seen in two theatrical releases, Mosagallu and Mumbai Saga, in Telugu and Hindi languages. She's also awaiting the release of Hey Sinamika opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Tamil, the biggie Acharya alongside Chiranjeevi and another untitled film with Nagarjuna Akkineni in Telugu. In a recent interaction with New Indian Express, she spoke of the advent of the OTT platforms.

Kajal expressed that OTTs allow her to explore roles that don't quite work for conventional feature films. She also added that her web debut Live Telecast gave her a taste of the digital medium and that she's reading a lot of scripts for OTT shows these days. Admitting that the film industry was ravaged by the pandemic, she claimed that OTTs were indeed a big deal today. The primary advantage of the medium is the choice it provides to the audience, which will also open more doors for talent to shine, she states.

However, she still feels the big-screen experience is here to stay. She remains optimistic that the glorious days of theatres would be back once the majority in the country get vaccinated and bring the COVID-19 situation under control.
