The film also stars Vivek Oberoi and Samyuktha Menon.
Kaduva saw Prithviraj Sukumaran channel his inner action hero yet again, and suffice to say, the star’s fans had a lot to be excited for in the Shaji Kailas’ directorial. The fact that the film marked Shaji’s return to Malayalam cinema after quite a while was also another reason for cinephiles to be excited. Needless to say, viewers seemed to have flocked to cinemas on the day of the film’s release, and eagerly took to Twitter to express their thoughts about the same.
Prithviraj fans were at the forefront when it came to giving their two cents about the film. Needless to say, they were more than a little impressed to see the star in action. Calling it an ‘old school action drama packed with a punch’, one user spoke of how he was impressed by the film’s action sequences and called it the perfect film to watch in a crowd. Another user called it a ‘must watch’ and lauded Prithviraj’s ‘fiery’ performance, and appreciated Vivek Oberoi as well. Kaduva marked Oberoi’s second Malayalam film after 2019’s Lucifer, which was directed by Prithviraj who also starred in it.
Many fans were impressed by the film’s ‘massy’ elements as well. ‘A pakka mass commercial package’ wrote one user and was all praise for Prithviraj’s acting, Shaji’s direction as well as Jakes Bejoy’s background music. They also appreciated the film’s impressive fight sequences as well.
But there were also a few netizens the film failed to impress as well. One user talked about how the first half was ‘decent’ and called the second half ‘average’. The user went on to speak about how they felt that the film’s screenplay was ‘lazy’ and how they were not impressed by the film’s score either.
Kaduva is now playing in theatres.
