Malayalam actor Basil Joseph, in the past two years, has proved that small films without any superstar’s backing can become blockbusters. Post the success of Jan-e-man, Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey and Paltu Janwar, Basil will once again be seen in the lead role in debutant director Muhashin’s Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham.

While the film’s teasers and posters hinted at a feel-good movie, the latest trailer of the movie promises a drama that encapsulates the struggles of the protagonist and his family after the pandemic and how he overcomes those.

The trailer of the movie, which was released on Monday, outlined that the film’s story is set after the nationwide pandemic lockdown and how Basil’s character sets about to run a business amid the financial crunch and restrictions.

Apart from Basil, the movie also has Swati Das, Binu Pappu, Jaffer Idukki, Indrans, Sreeja Ravi, Shibla Fara and Parvathy R. Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham is scripted by Unda and Puzhu co-writer Harshad and takes a look at how the hero has to endure the struggles and how he finds his way out, without giving up.

The movie, which is set to hit theatres on April 21, has music by Govind Vasantha and cinematography by Arjun Sethu and S Mundol.

In a recent interview with us, Basil said that he “never wanted to be an actor in this responsible space”. “I was a filmmaker first and just because my friends called for a few comedy roles, I started acting. It slowly evolved from there,” he said. “But now that things have changed, I am truly excited about my profile as an actor. It gives me an additional responsibility as an actor as well. I now have to strike a balance between my creative projects as an actor and a director.”

Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham is set to hit theatres as an Eid release along with Soubin Shahir’s Ayalvaashi, Tovino Thomas’ Neelavelicham and Lukman Avaran’s Sulaikha Manzil.
