Apart from Kadakan, the release of Arun Bose’s romantic comedy drama Marivillin Gopurangal and Biju Menon and Asif Ali-starrer Thalavan have also been delayed.
Kadakan's theatrical release has been postponed, according to the film's makers, for undisclosed reasons. The action drama, which was earlier slated to release on February 23, will now release in theatres on March 1.
Dulquer Salmaan’s banner, Wayfarer Films, had announced that it would be distributing the film in theatres across the state. With a UA certificate, the movie was censored earlier this month. The main character in Kadakan is portrayed by Hakkim Shajahan, who is well-known for his performance in Pranaya Vilasam and the short film Freedom @ Midnight.
Apart from Kadakan, the release of Arun Bose’s romantic comedy drama Marivillin Gopurangal and Biju Menon and Asif Ali-starrer Thalavan have also been delayed. It was earlier reported to hit the big screen on February 16 and February 23, respectively.
All these films were supposed to run in theatres along with Mammootty’s much-awaited mystery horror Bramayugam, Soubin Shahir’s Manjummel Boys, and Biju Menon’s Thundu. Tovino Thomas’ Anweshippin Kandethum and Girish AD’s Premalu, which were released earlier this month, are also receiving rave reviews from the audience in theatres.

Sajil Mampad is making his directorial debut with Kadakan, which is produced by Khaleel. The screenplay for the film has been penned by Bodhi and Sasi Kumar Mampad. Harisree Asokan, Sarath Sabha, Jaffar Idukki, Manikandan R Achari, Fahiz Bin Rifai, Nirmal Palazhi, Meenakshi Raveendran, Sinoj Varghese, Sona Olickal, Pradeep Balan, Dinesh Prabhakar, and Bibin Perumpilly play supporting roles in the film.
In this movie, filmmaker Ranjith has a significant role as well. Shameer Muhammad oversaw the editing work for the film, and Jazin Jaseel is the cinematographer.
Users praised Kadakan's first music video, Chowttum Kuthum, for its powerful action and stunning visuals, bringing to mind other songs with a festive background. The video's upbeat music and action scenes went viral. The lyrics to this song were written and sung by Athul Narukara. Gopi Sundar is the composer of Kadakan's soundtracks.
