Kacchey Limbu actor Faiz Khan on preparing for his character: ‘I used to observe the watchmen of my building’

Faiz Khan plays an important character in Kacchey Limbu
Known for his performance in films and series like Gangubai Kathiawadi Jagga Jasoos, Aranyak and Minus One Season 1, Faiz Khan played the character of an observant watchman in the recently released Radhika Madan and Rajat Barmecha starrer sports drama film, Kacchey Limbu. The actor recently spoke about how he prepared for the role of Zakir, his experience of working with Radhika and more.
Written and directed by Shubham Yogi, the story of Kacchey Limbu - which also features Ayush Mehra - explores the bond between a brother and a sister who are mad about cricket. The movie was recently released on JioCinema.
Giving an insight into how he prepared for his character in the film, Faiz said, “I was closely observing the watchmen of my building for days together. While they would mostly be on their phones during their free time, what I figured is that they are also dealing with a lot of problems in their life. But while looking at their phones, they somehow momentarily forget those problems. What I understood from that is I have to stay in the same zone and open the gate when someone comes in. I did it for a day or two in my building and felt like a watchman. Further, I worked on the mannerisms - the style of walking, talking, and then gradually Zakir’s character took its form. The character had his own restrictions and boundaries, as he stays by himself most of the time, which I found challenging as an actor to maintain on the set.”
Previously, Faiz Khan has also been part of projects like Kedarnath Yeh Hai Bakrapur, City of Dreams 2 and Jolly LLB 2. Speaking about his experience of working with Radhika - who recently also appeared in Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo on Disney+ Hotstar - the actor said, “She is very comfortable to work with. Radhika is supportive towards her fellow actors, while she is focused on her work, energetic and positive. I would like to say the same words for Ayush and Rajat. They are very grounded and understand the responsibility of their character.”
Next, Faiz will be seen in Shreyas Talpade’s SarCar Ki Seva Mei and Shadow of Othello starring Sanjay Mishra.
