Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, directed by Vignesh Shivn, will release on April 28.
The trailer of Vignesh Shivn's directorial, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal has been released. It opens with—Kanmani (Nayanthara), Rambo (Vijay Sethupathi) and Khatija (Samantha)—in a temple, which reminded us of the iconic scene from Vijay's Kushi, directed by SJ Suryah. The Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal trailer also has scenes borrowed from Kamal Haasan's Sathya, Naanum Rowdy Thaan, Baahubali 2 and Titanic. Over all, the trailer promises us a fun-filled triangular love story. Recently, in an interaction session with her followers on social media, Samantha revealed, "Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal will be Nayanthara's best work yet!" When asked about Vignesh Shivn, Samantha had told, "He has put his heart and soul into the film."
On an Instagram live session, Samantha had said, romantic-comedy was her favourite genre. "I am happy that I am finally doing one after a long time. It is really fun. Working with such amazing co-stars is my favourite memory of the film. Everyone got their A-game to the sets, including Vignesh Shivn." Further, Samantha said she's praying for the film to be a blockbuster. While Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara have previously worked with Vignesh Shivn, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is Samantha's first film with the director.
Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal has music by Anirudh Ravichander. And, this is his 25th film. Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studios and Rowdy Pictures are jointly producing the film, which will hit the screens on April 28, coinciding with Samantha’s birthday. Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal also stars Prabhu, Kala master, Redin Kingsley, and cricketer Sreesanth in supporting roles. Udhayanidhi Stalin's production house, Red Giant Movies, has bought the theatrical distribution rights of the film for Tamil Nadu. Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal has editing by Sreekar Prasad and cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan of Doctor-fame and SR Kathir ISC. The makers had dropped a new track 'Dippam Dappam' featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Sethupathi, recently. This confirms that Sreesanth will be playing Samantha's boyfriend in the film, and it appears like she ditches him for Vijay Sethupathi.
