Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal song Dippam Dappam: Vijay Sethupathi,Samantha’s love story takes centre stage

Anirudh Ravichander has composed the soundtrack of the film.

As promised, the makers of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal have unveiled the latest track from the film, titled Dippam Dappam. The song’s lyric video gives viewers a peek into the romance between the characters played by Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

The spirited song is set against the background of a nightclub, flooded with bright neon lights. Right from the start, Vijay Sethupathi’s character Rambo, and Samantha’s character named Khatija are seen stealing glances at each other. Even before the song was released, the makers billed it as a song centred on the duo’s love story. After sneaking stolen glances throughout most of the video, the duo seem united at last, sharing laughs beside a brightly lit bridge.

Dippam Dappam is sung by Anthony Daasan and Anirudh Ravichander, the duo also making an appearance in the music video as well. Anirudh has also composed the film’s soundtrack. Dippam Dappam is the fourth track from the film to be released, after ‘Rendu Kaadhal’, ‘Two Two Two’ and ‘Naan Pizhai’.

In addition to Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha, the upcoming film also stars Nayanthara in a lead role, the latter’s character named Kanmani. The film’s premise is touted to be a love triangle between the three characters. The film marks the trio’s first onscreen collaboration together.

Vignesh Shivan has written and directed the upcoming film, which is produced under the banners of Seven Screen Studio and Rowdy Pictures.

SR Kathir ISC and Vijay Karthik Kannan have cranked the camera as the film’s cinematographers, while the film has been edited by Sreekar Prasad. Shwetha Sebastian is the film’s art director and Dhilip Subbarayan is its stunt choreographer. The film had wrapped up its shoot last month in March.

Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal will be released on April 28, 2022.
