The Theme Song has been in demand ever since the first promo of Kaatera came out, wherein a sample of the track caught the attention of all the viewers. Featuring ethnic instruments like the nadaswaram and heavy percussions, the new song has an anthem-like quality which, one presumes, will underline pivotal moments in the film.
As the trailer suggests, Kaatera is essentially a film about farmers' uproar against tyranny, with rural Karnataka of the 1970s serving as the backdrop. The visuals also reveal that Tharun Sudhir and his team have gone to great lengths to keep things authentic, be it through the language that's spoken in the film or the costumes that are used. Tharun Sudhir has revealed in the past that he was inspired to make the film because of a specific real-life incident.
As far as the Kaatera Theme Song is concerned, V. Harikrishna uses an ensemble of singers to accentuate the "spirit" of the song. Punit Arya is credited as the lyricist and Aniruddha Sastry, Abhishek M R, Madhwesh Bharadwaj and Vishak Nagalapura as the singers.
This is the third single from the album with the first two songs focusing more on the romantic angle featuring Darshan and Aradhana Ram's characters. While the first single, Pasandaagavne attracted praise for the music and the choreography, the second song - Yava Janumada Gelathi - ended up getting mixed reviews.
Kaatera is set to release in theatres on December 29 and the bookings for the film have already begun.
