'Kaatera' has concluded 2023 on a good note and is expected to continue delivering good results through the week.
'Kaatera' has quite evidently brought about joy for the Kannada Film Industry as the film concludes 2023 on a high. Tharun Sudhir's film, starring Challenging Star Darshan in the lead, opened in theatres on December 29th to positive reviews from all corners, with many even opining it is among the best Kannada releases of the year.
In the same vein, 'Kaatera' began its box office journey on a good note and earned around Rs. 14 crores (gross) on opening day, as per trade reports. Day #2 of the theatrical run would yield about Rs. 8 crores in net value and the same reports now inform us that Darshan's action-drama has ended its opening weekend with another "double-digit" score.

Although the exact figures aren't known yet, one gathers that 'Kaatera' has grossed close to Rs. 35 crores over the last three days. For a film that has largely been released in Karnataka, the collections thus far can be seen as quite encouraging.
The focus now shifts to the weekday run of the film and whether it can continue delivering good results during what's generally believed to be a tough phase for films. The early estimates do suggest that 'Kaatera' will collect more than Rs. 5 crores (net) on Day #4, Monday.
On the other hand, Challenging Star Darshan is expected to get started on his next 'Devil - The Hero' post Sankranthi. The film, a mass entertainer, will mark his reunion with director Milana Prakash, with whom he has previously worked on the 2017 film 'Tarak'.
