It's believed that a person's actions and behaviour towards animals can reveal a lot about their character and values. If that's true, then the Tamil film industry's power couple is full of kindness, empathy, compassion, and great moral and ethical qualities.

Jyothika marked the one-year birthday of her new pet dog, named Kobe, by sharing a video on her Instagram page on Sunday.

An adorable family member

The family video showcases Kobe's first arrival in the house and the close bond he developed with all family members, including Suriya and Jyothika. Based on the video, it's clear that Kobe is an important member of the family, enjoying significant freedom in the house. From taking over the bedrooms to dominating the kitchen tables, Kobe has become an integral part of the couple's life. Their children, Diya and Dev, also seem to have grown fond of Kobe, playing with him in the backyard and taking him on road trips, including ocean gazing.

Jyothika praised Kobe while sharing the video capturing the family's cosy moments with him. "Happy birthday to our dearest Kobe. One year down! But a lifetime of love to come. If we could be half the person Kobe is… We would be twice the human we are," she wrote on her Instagram page.

Jyothika and Suriya challenge the stigma

Kobe is an Indian street dog, and the couple adopted him last year, making a strong statement against the stigma surrounding stray dog adoptions. In India, adopting stray dogs is considered less glamorous than buying a specific breed. Jyothika and Suriya are setting the right precedent by challenging this stigma in an adorable way.
