Abhay Deol's much-anticipated movie, Jungle Cry is finally making its way onto the screens in India. The film, which marks the Bollywood debut of American actress, Emily Shah, will have a direct-to-OTT release. The film tells the true story of a Rugby team of underprivileged children. Yes, Jungle Cry is inspired by true events. The sports drama is about a Rugby team of 12 underprivileged children from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences.

What is Jungle Cry about?

The story of the film is about the epic win of the 12-student rugby team from the Odisha institute at the International Junior Rugby Tournament in 2007. They, who did not have passports then, got to travel to the UK for a tournament and won the game despite only a few days of training in the sport in 2007. Since the students did not have passports, they were issued temporary ones after the institute wrote to the central government. The students were also trained in spoken English and other soft skills.

The film is a Bollywood and Hollywood co-production, led by Prashant Shah. The film is directed by Sagar Ballary. It features Abhay Deol as the coach. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of American actress Emily Shah. Apart from Deol and Shah, it features Atul Kumar, Stewart Wright, and Julian Lewis Jones. The drama will also have special cameos by stalwarts in the sports industry like Nigel Owens, Wales and British Lions fly-half Phil Bennett, and Colin Charvis, who was the former captain of Wales.
