Julia Fox to star as Debi Mazar in the upcoming Madonna biopic?

The movie is backed by Universal Pictures and Amy Pascal with singer Madonna herself donning the director’s hat

Actor Julia Fox is in talks to be cast for a prominent role in Madonna’s biopic. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor is being considered to play Debi Mazar, the singer’s longtime friend. The report came after Madonna shared a post on her Instagram revealing she went to dinner with Julia to talk about the movie.

Debi Mazar has a decade-long friendship with the iconic singer. She is best known for films like Goodfellas and the series Younger and Entourage. She has also been featured in Madonna’s several music videos which includes True Blue and Music.

Singer Madonna has been working on her life story for several years now. She wished to bring the same to the big screen since some time. The singer has joined hands with Universal Pictures and Amy Pascal, with herself donning the director’s hat.

Initially, Madonna had started writing the script with the Oscar-winning Diablo Cody. Reportedly Erin Wilson has stepped in his place, after Diablo left. According to Madonna, a major portion of the film is set in the past. It will revolve around her struggle as an artist.

Meanwhile, Kanye West, Antonio Brown and Floyd Mayweather were also seen in the pictures during the same week, shared by Madonna. For the unversed, Julia has been the talk of the town lately for her relationship with Kanye West. The details of the other cast in the movie is yet to be out.
