Raj Mehta had delivered a fun and entertaining comedy drama with his directorial debut Good Newwz (2019). So naturally, expectations were high for his second stint in the director’s chair in the form of JugJugg Jeeyo. In the latter, the director chose to tackle another unique tale of family and relationships. For fans who were not able to catch the film on the big screen, fret not, as JugJugg Jeeyo has already hit OTT.
The film revolves around the tale of Kukoo and Nainaa, a married Indian couple living in Canada, who have grown apart over the years. The two decide to hold off their impending divorce until they come back from attending Kukoo’s sister's marriage in India. When they reach there however, Kukoo is shocked to learn that his father, Bheem is having an affair and plans on divorcing the former’s mother, Geeta. The film delves into the story of the family dynamics at play, in the midst of these personal crises.
The film stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor who star as Kukoo, Nainaa, Bheem and Geeta respectively. Maniesh Paul, Prajakta Koli, Tisca Chopra, Varun Sood and Elnaaz Norouzi feature in the film.
The film marks Neetu’s comeback to the big screen after a period of almost nine years. The actress’ last film before JugJugg Jeeyo had been 2013’s Besharam, in which she shared the screen with her son Ranbir and her late husband Rishi.
Raj has directed the film from a script penned by Rishhabh Sharrma, Anurag Singh, Sumit Batheja and Neeraj UdhawaniHiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta had produced the film under the banners of Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios.

JugJugg Jeeyo was released in theatres on June 24, and raked in more than Rs 100 crores during its theatrical run. The film is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
