Jugjugg Jeeyo, starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the lead, released on June 24 after a lot of anticipation. The movie got off to a good start and has also had a decent Monday, despite seeing a drop.

According to Box Office India, the movie saw a drop of about 50% after having a great weekend. The movie is expected to have collected Rs. 4.50 crore nett range.

Places such as East Punjab and Rajasthan, which saw great business in recent days, are among places that saw a drop of about 40 - 45%. Gujarat is also another state which saw a drop of about 50%.

The movie had an opening of Rs 9.28 crore and earned Rs 36.93 on its first weekend. Considering the drop the movie has seen on its first Monday, it will be interesting to see what trajectory it will take in the following days.

Directed by Raj Mehta, Jugjugg Jeeyo revolves around a family and what happens when they meet again for a wedding. The son is contemplating divorce and learns from his father that he is also thinking about the same.

“If you found Good Newwz bizarre to some extent, Raj Mehta makes a course correction with JugJugg Jeeyo. He creates a messy ball of wool with the first half, while the second half, although it starts in quick succession, clears out all the mess in the right way,” reads a part of the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, the movie also features Maniesh Paul, Prajakta Koli and Varun Sood. The movie is now playing in theatres around the country.
