The two actors can be seen in Jugjugg Jeeyo along with Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor.
In a year that saw a long list of Bollywood duds, a few movies stood out as they went on to make a dent at the box office. Jugjugg Jeeyo, which stars Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor, was one of the big winners of the year. Actor Maniesh Paul, who plays an important role in the movie, has now opened up about his bromance with Varun and why it worked with the audience.
As reported by Times of India, Maniesh said that Varun and he always had a great time because Varun is down-to-earth and that he does not have a chip on his shoulder. He added that Varun is someone who always has fun and enjoys what he does.
"People are saying bromance is back, and that's a superb complement for Varun and I. Usually, you have a hero and then you either have a sidekick or a comedian next to him, but here it just looked like two guys were just having fun." Maniesh said.
Maniesh also gave credits to director Raj Mehta, saying that the filmmaker gave him a good role understanding what his strengths are. He also added that he hopes that more writers and directors give him more scripts where he can do something.
Directed by Raj Mehta, Jugjugg Jeeyo hit theatres around the world on June 24 and went on to collect more than Rs. 100 crore at the worldwide box office. Also starring Prajakta Koli, Tisca Chopra and Varun Sood, the movie received good reviews from the critics.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the family entertainer is still avaialble in theatres around the country.
