Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha has been receiving good reviews on X (formerly Twitter). We compile some reactions to the action flick
Gautham Vasudev Menon’s long-awaited action-drama Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha, starring newbie Varun, has finally been released in theatres. And netizens have many opinions about the film. After watching the film in theatres, many X (formerly Twitter) users shared their views on the platform. The film has received mixed reviews from critics, but audiences have been praising the director for creating yet another ‘GVM-style’ action flick.
Despite its "old story", viewers have hailed the action sequences and cinematography. Praising Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha for its fresh stunt sequences, one user wrote, “Yes the story is a bit old. Actor performances and surprising factors could’ve been better but as a whole, Joshua was never dull or boring at any moment. It’s worth a try. For a film that was shot years back, the action sequences were still fresh and amazing.”
Singer-turned-composer Karthik, who scored the music for the film, has been receiving a lot of appreciation for his work. One user commented, “A special mention to composer Karthik who has done a great job with the songs and BGM. Yes we don't have a super hit track, but they work wonderfully with the film. GVM's choice to have songs instead of just music for the fight scenes”.
Overall, in contrast to the mixed reviews that Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha has got from critics, audiences have given the acclaimed director’s action flick a thumbs-up.

In a recent interview, GVM said that it is a challenge to explain an action film to any hero, because it involves a lot of obstacles, including body doubles and risk-taking factors. However, he said that it was easy to work with Varun, who the director said was "breeze" because not only was he eager to start shooting but was also committed to the responsibilities his role required.
