Joseph and Nayattu actor Joju George is gearing up for the release of his next entertainer titled Peace. The movie, which has him playing an Anglo-Indian named Carlos, is a comedy drama-thriller.

The movie, helmed by debutant Sanfeer K, will release in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Telugu when it hit theatres on August 26. The movie, which also has Aditi Ravi, Siddique, Remya Nambeesan, Shalu Rahim, Asha Sharath and Mammukkoya, is also the last movie that late actor Anil Nedumangad had worked in, before his untimely passing in December 2020.

Sanfeer in an earlier interview with OTTplay had said that the movie is told through hyperlink format, and is an update to what the audience has seen in movies such as Aadu and Double Barrel. Joju essays the role of the father of Aditi Ravi’s character in the movie and has a fun and jovial attitude. “In fact, all actors play characters that they haven’t essayed before,” said the filmmaker.

Joju George, meanwhile, is also part of Lal Jose’s latest directorial Solomonte Theneechakal, which released in theatres on August 18. The romantic thriller has him playing a cop named Solomon with Vincy Aloshius and Darshana S Nair playing the other lead characters.

The actor had won this year’s Kerala State Award for the Best Actor for his role in Naayattu, Freedom Fight and Madhuram – the latter two being direct-to-OTT releases on Sony LIV. He had also played an extended cameo in Shanil’s directorial Aviyal earlier this year and is awaiting the release of Rajeev Ravi’s Thuramukham, which has Nivin Pauly in the lead.

Thuramukham’s release has been pushed several times over the past two years. Recently, Nivin told us that the movie has run into problems as its producers are yet to pay up the dues to the artistes as well as the technicians.
