There could be some exciting news for all The Office fans (which the whole world probably is!). John Krasinski has hinted at the reunion for the reboot series, which has been making headlines since some time now. More recently, the reboot made news since the plot of the new show was spilled. John shared a photo with his Dwight aka Rainn Wilson just a day after the news broke.

John Krasinski’s post

John Krasinski shared a photo with Rainn Wilson, who played the Dwight to his Jim Halpert in The Office. John was promoting his upcoming film, If (which co-incidentally also stars Michael Scott from The Office aka Steve Carell). Sharing the picture with Rainn, John wrote, “Soooo… I think I found my IF!” The actor further hinted at The Office reunion by using #officefamily.

The Office reboot plot and reactions

The Office reboot/sequel has been picked up by Peacock and will have a mid-western newspaper setting, according to a report on Variety. The show is a mockumentary and the official logline confirms that instead of Dundler Mifflin’s Scranton branch (which is where Jim, Pam, Dwight and the team functioned) coming back, the plot will revolve around a Midwestern newspaper’s publisher trying to revive their publication with the help of volunteer reports. The same is likely to be played by the cast of The Office.

On hearing about the plot of the show, netizens had mixed reviews. While a few showed excitement, others could find striking similarities between the plot and Parks and Recreation. Others also pointed out how the cast felt that the comedy in The Office back in the day would not work in today’s times, and thus a reboot does not make sense to a few. Others suggested adding newer faces and elements that would make the show a fun watch.
