John Abraham cheekily suggested Akshay Kumar is the “modernised patriot” and not him
John Abraham’s filmography in the recent years have seen in play characters that all end up saving India at one point or the other. With Batla House, RAW, Parmanu and Satyameva Jayate and its sequel, the actor has had shades of nationalism in his movies.
As reported by Indian Express, the actor was asked about how the tag of “modernised patriot” sits with him, to which he replied, “ “I thought that was Akshay.” He added, “For me, India’s heroism doesn’t come from waving the national flag, that’s being jingoistic. For me, what is cool about India is how in the Russia and Ukraine war,”
The actor added that India abstained from voting against Russia in the UN, because India was smart enough to understand that their oldest ally has always been Russia.
He added that modern heroism is showing the way India is positioned in the world’s ecosystem, but in a way that people understand why India is the greatest country.
The actor also revealed that he is apolitical, even though he understands politics and things happening in the country and around the world, because he reads a lot.
John Abraham’s latest, Attack, is co-written and directed by Lakshya Raj Anand. The movie is produced by Abraham's JA Entertainment, Pen Studios and Ajay Kapoor's Kyta Productions.
The actor had recently opened up about the movie being compared to Hollywood films , saying that if Hollywood could, so could we. The movie, resembling the Hollywood movie franchise Universal Soldier, is based on the idea that future wars will be fought on technology and artificial intelligence.
The sci-fi action thriller is set to hit theatres around the country on April 1.
