The actor and the director had differences in opinion, and now they are all set to work together once again
After more than a year, Jisshu U Sengupta is all set to start shooting a Bengali film. The busy actor has been working in multiple entertainment industries in India, and now he will collaborate with Srijit Mukherji in his Puja project Dawsham Awbotaar after 2018.
Jisshu and Srijit worked together on a number of projects, including, Rajkahini, Uma, etc. They last worked together in Ek Je Chhilo Raja in 2018. They were also known to be the two closest friends in Tollywood. Later, their friendship faded out for a while. In 2021, their differences were widely reported in the media. When Srijit planned to work on Lawho Gouranger Naam Re, producer Rana Sarkar insisted on casting Jisshu as Sri Chaitanya. Jisshu refused to be a part of the project, and Srijit stated that the actor was never his first choice.
However, all those differences are past now. Jisshu is back in Srijit’s Dawsham Awbotaar with Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jaya Ahsan, and Anirban Bhattacharya. In a candid chat with OTTplay, Jisshu admitted that there were differences, but they made up. “Srijit and I are like husbands and wives. We fight and then kiss and make up. Yes, there were differences in opinions. Both of us said things to each other, and both of us were hurt. Since we have always been very close friends, we were hurt a little more. But our friendship stands tall, and we made up,” said the actor, who was on a promotion trail in Kolkata for his upcoming web series The Trial. Jisshu pairs up with Kajol in this series.
