This was the best opportunity for Kimmel to backfire Trump. “The Chicken McNuggets are coming home to roost, aren’t they?” Kimmel said in his show Jimmy Kimmel Live! “The rats are jumping off the Spray-tanic. The big, beautiful walls are closing in, and somewhere up there, I have to believe John McCain is smiling. You know, he likes people who don’t get caught.”
Donald Trump was known to have had a difficult relationship with McCain, the longtime Arizona senator and 2008 Republican presidential candidate, who passed away in 2018. At one point, Trump dismissed McCain’s military service because he was captured and tortured in Vietnam.

Back in 2015, Donald Trump talked brutally about McCain during an appearance at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames. He said, “He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured. Perhaps he's a war hero, but right now he's said some very bad things about a lot of people."
