Jhund Box Office Collection Day 5: Amitabh Bachchan's film inches closer to Rs 10 crore mark

Jhund Box Office Collection Day 5: Amitabh Bachchan's film inches closer to Rs 10 crore mark

The Amitabh Bachchan starrer has been gathering positive responses from the movie-buffs, critics and celebs around multiple film industries including Hindi, Marathi and Tamil. The film was released with an opening of Rs 1.5 crore, while on day 2 the film earned Rs 2.10 crore rupees. On the third day, the collection slightly increased and closed at 2.90 CR. However, it dropped on day 4 and day 5 and earned 1.20 CR and 1.30 CR respectively.

Meanwhile, the total box office collection of Jhund till now is Rs 9 cr. The sports drama film is expected to surpass the 10 cr mark in the first week.

Nagraj Popatrao Manjule's first Hindi directorial is inspired by the life of a social activist Vijay Barse, who dedicated his life to the needy and fought for the rights of children that prevail from slum areas and has also founded the NGO named Slum Soccer.

Aamir Khan reviewed the film before it was released and called it 'one of the greatest films of Amitabh Bachchan. After watching the film during a private screener, the Dangal actor told the makers, "I don't have words to say. The emotion of the youngsters that you've caught is unbelievable. These children (the young actors in the film) have worked beautifully."

Post that the Tamil star Dhanush also reviewed the film and called it a masterpiece.

Along with Big B, the movie also features the Sairat fame Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru with Vicky Kadian and Ganesh Deshmukh in major roles.

Jhund can be watched in theatres across the country now.
