Jhansi first glimpse: Anjali plays a cop in this web series which is set to drop on THIS leading OTT platform

The Telugu web series Jhansi was launched last year at an event attended by director Thiru, actor-producer Krishna and Anjali who plays the lead in it. Billed as an actioner, the project was announced to be releasing on Disney+ Hotstar this year.

The makers have now unveiled a short promo video of the series which offers a sneak peek into its genre though they have ensured not to reveal its plot. The 30-second video has Anjali essaying an action-packed character like never before. The actress will be seen in the role of a smart cop.

Chandini Chowdary, who also essays a key character, depicts a role with grey shades. The promo video begins with Anjali's character saying 'It's okay if I don't know who my friends are, but I want to know who my friends are', followed by her bashing up baddies left, right and centre.

Actor Krishna has bankrolled the project under the banner of Tribal Horse Entertainment. This is his second association with a web series; he had earlier produced High Priestess, a Zee5 original which was released in 2019. He currently has Bell Bottom (remake of Kannada film of the same title) and Rayar Parambarai, which have him playing the lead, awaiting releases.

Jhansi is the first web series of director Thiru and second Telugu project in his career. Sricharan Pakala has composed music for the movie which has editing handled by Anthony.

The series is the third OTT project of Anjali after Paava Kadhaigal and Navarasa which were released on Netflix in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The actress, who was last seen in the recent Tollywood film Macherla Niyojakavargam, will next be seen in the highly anticipated project RC 15.
