Jessica Henwick had to make the choice between a Marvel movie and the fourth movie in the Matrix franchise, and she chose the latter.
Jessica Henwick is an actor that is making a name for herself and is on the rise as a star. She first captured the attention of the fans playing Nymeria Sand in Game of Thrones.
The actor will soon be seen in another big production movie that is bound to reach a large number of viewers. She is a part of the elaborate cast of The Matrix Resurrections the fourth movie in the fan favourite The Matrix franchise.
But the actor had to make a difficult choice, as she was also offered a role in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Henwick revealed this in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
She revealed that both Disney and Warner Bros. approached her at the same time and that the studios gave her an ultimatum that she could only audition for one of the roles.
While it is unclear what role she was offered in the Marvel movie which went on to make big money, Henwick will play the part of Bugs in the latest installment of The Matrix.
The actor also described her dilemma as a “red pill vs blue pill” moment, referencing the iconic scene from the original Matrix movie.
Henwick is slowly making an impression on Hollywood after appearing in movies like Love and Monsters and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She has also joined the casts of both Knives Out 2 and Blade Runner: Black Lotus.

The Matrix Resurrections which stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris and Priyanka Chopra, is set to release on December 22.
