Starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, the first two episodes of Hawkeye will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on November 24.
Marvel fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Hawkeye a series that will follow the bow and arrow wielding Avenger. The early glimpses of the show have definitely been intriguing.
Now Jeremy Renner, who will reprise his role as Clint Barton/Hawkeye has explained why a stand-alone series on Disney+ is needed.
In an interview with Collider, the star says the miniseries format is perfect for the character, about whom other movies have not delved into in detail.
“He’s a character that we’ve now spent a lot of time with, but we don’t know a lot about. We can spend a little bit longer in the longer form storytelling, to have a greater understanding of Clint Barton,” says Renner.
He added that when Marvel chief Kevin Feige asked him about doing a miniseries centring on the character he said that’s exactly where the Hawkeye “needs to live.”
Director Rhys Thomas had also spoken about why telling Hawkeye’s story works better in the short format compared to a film. During a panel on the show, Thomas had said a show will allow the audience to know the characters better and for these characters to grow, according to Screen Rant. “… it's a world that you get to live in for a little longer,” he explained.
