As one of the most popular talk show hosts in America Ellen DeGeneres leaves some very big shoes to fill. But Jennifer Hudson seems to be up for the challenge. The Academy Award winning actress-singer is reportedly developing a new daytime talk show which will be aired in the Ellen show’s slots once the latter ends its run.

According to reports in Collider, the yet to be named talkshow will have members from the Ellen show team as its developers. Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly, who had served as executive producers on the Ellen show, will also executive produce Hudson’s new venture as well.

Hudson had also reportedly filmed a test shot of her upcoming show, with the help of Lassner and Connelly, on the Ellen show stages. The show will be developed along with Warner Bros. and Telepictures. Hudson’s show is slated for a premiere next year.

The Ellen DeGeneres show had first aired back in 2003 and the popular comedian and host had announced that this year’s season would be its last. In addition to interviews with celebrities and other known guests, the show’s format also involved musical performances and comedy and game programs as well.

The talk show had become a hit with audiences and had raked in over 60 Daytime Emmy Awards though the course of its 19 season run.

DeGeneres had talked about how she had loved ‘every minute’ of making the show and that the ending was going to be a very emotional experience for her.
