After the success of Aparajito, Jeetu will also be seen as Titu Mir,
Anik Dutta’s Aparajito has put the limelight on Jeetu Kamal, whose striking resemblance with Satyajit Ray and poised acting earned him laurels from different quarters. While Aparajito is all set to get a digital premiere on Zee5 on August 25, the actor is taking horse riding training for his upcoming period piece in which he will play Titu Mir. Now it has been reported that Jeetu will work on a film produced by Jeet. As per reports, Jeet will also work on the film.
Jeet’s last film Raavan – an action thriller – faired moderately at the box office. Later, he started presenting a reality show as a celebrity anchor. The shooting of his next film Chengiz which also features Susmita Chatterjee has started. Directed by Rajesh Ganguly, Chengiz is an action movie. The film with Jeetu is of the same genre, as per reports.
While the sources close to the industry confirmed Jeetu’s presence in the film, the female lead has not been finalised yet. There are talks about getting a heroine from Bangladesh. This new film can be directed by Sanjay Samaddar from Bangladesh. Initially, it was Mosharaf Karim who was supposed to act alongside Jeet in this film. Then Prasenjit Chatterjee was rumoured to replace Mosharaf. But that did not work out, and finally, Jeetu was offered the role.
After playing Satyajit Ray in the blockbuster Aparajito, Jeetu has two big projects now in his pocket. Meanwhile, Aparajito has completed a 100-day run in Kolkata theatres. As per sources, the film still sees housefull shows, especially on Sundays, at multiplexes. Besides, the film has also been released worldwide. Recently, it was released in a number of states in the US.
