The Divyang Thakkar directorial has hit OTT after its theatrical run.
Within a month of its theatrical release, Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar has made it to the OTT platform. Yes, on Friday, that is, June 10, 2022, the film started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film marks the directorial debut of Divyang Thakkar and also the Hindi film debut of Shalini Pandey. The movie, featuring Ranveer in the titular role, also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Boman Irani, and Jia Vaidya in supporting roles.
Talking about the premise of Jayeshbhai Jordaar the film shows a non-aggressive approach to sparing their unborn daughter from feticide. Ranveer Singh) flees with his pregnant wife Mudra (Shalini Pandey) from his patriarchal family. As Jayesh's father (Boman Irani) gathers all his power to apprehend them, a screwball, hilarious chase ensues. Will this unlikely hero be able to provide his daughter with a safe and equal environment?
Amazon Prime Video, in collaboration with Ranveer, made the announcement by sharing a new poster from the film. The caption read, "Jordaar peshkash leke aa chuke hain Jayeshbhai. #JayeshbhaiJordaarOnPrime Watch now! #RatnaPathakShah #ManeeshSharma @divyangt @yrf @shalzp @boman_irani."
Earlier, while talking about signing Jayeshbhai Jordaar Ranveer had said in a statement that it was a miracle script that YRF discovered for him out of nowhere. The sheer quality of the language convinced the actor to approve of this idea right away. Jayeshbhai is up there with the most solid on-paper material he has come across, both humorous and poignant.
During its theatrical run, Jayeshbhai Jordaar failed to create an impressive mark at the box office. The film did not create any magic at the ticket windows and wasn't appreciated critically by the reviewers.
Ranveer will next be seen in Cirkus which is a Rohit Shetty directorial. For the first time, the actor plays a double role onscreen, and the film is set to be a December 2022 release.
