The movie, directed by G Prajesh Sen, has Jayasurya playing a radio jockey while Manju essays the role of a social worker
Malayalam stars Jayasurya and Manju Warrier’s first movie together, Meri Awaas Suno, finally has a release date. The movie, which is helmed by Captain and Vellam filmmaker G Prajesh Sen, is set to hit theatres on May 13.
The makers had announced the release date of the movie, which also has Sshivada, Johny Antony, Gauthami Nair, G Suresh Kumar and Sudheer Karamana in pivotal roles, on Sunday. The movie had completed its shooting last year and the release had been delayed due to the third wave of pandemic and unavailability of theatres.
The film will have Jayasurya essay the role of a radio jockey named RJ Shankar. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, the actor said that his character in the film has his own philosophy and is confident about who he is.
“If he gets a call, both the listeners and the talker would gain something after the conversation. To influence a person, sound is not important. Sound only supports his content and the light within him,” said the actor.
The film has Manju playing a doctor and social worker named Dr Reshmi Padath, who is a friend of RJ Shankar. The film’s director Prajesh Sen, who had earlier worked with Jayasurya in his award-winning movies Vellam and Captain, told us that Manju’s character is someone who is active and has a go-getter attitude. She is a guide to Jayasurya’s character in the film, he added.
The movie also marks both Jayasurya and Manju Warrier’s first theatrical release this year. Manju had a direct-to-OTT release earlier this month with Lalitham Sundaram, which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
Meanwhile, Jayasurya has also wrapped up filming for Nadirshah’s Eesho, which is touted to be an OTT release. He has completed shooting for debutant director Abhijith Joseph’s John Luther.
