As many as seven films starring the likes of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Amala Paul and Dileep are set to stream during the festive season in December
It’s a season of joy, not just for those celebrating the festive times but also the audience waiting to stream movies in the comfort of their homes in the final week of the year. As many as seven Malayalam films are set to drop on various leading OTT platforms during the Christmas and New Year weekends and these including superhits such as Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey to the much-anticipated Gold as well as latest movies such as Thattassery Koottam and 4 Years, starring Priya Prakash Varrier and Sarjano Khalid.

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey
Starring Basil Joseph and Darshana Rajendran, this Vipin Das directorial, which has emerged as superhit, revolves around the life of its protagonist Jaya, whose decision are taken by the men around her. How she finally manages to kick out of this vicious circle and the impact it has on her family life form the plot of this entertainer.

Director Ranjith Sankar’s latest movie is a campus romance in the same vein as Richard Linklater’s Before Sunset trilogy. Priya Prakash Varrier and Sarjano Khalid play the protagonists in the film, which spans the final two college days of the youngster’s lives. It takes us through the whirlwind of emotions they go through as they try to find closure in their relationship.

Thattassery Koottam
Sanju, a happy-go-lucky youngster would rather pursue civil services than take up his ancestral trade as goldsmith. However, after his uncle gets injured, he is forced to design a necklace, which soon becomes the talk of the town but not for the reasons intended. The ramifications this has on Sanju’s life form the plot of the film, starring Arjun Ashokan, Ganapathy and Dileep.

Harry and Nima – two strangers – meet during a train journey from Coonoor to Mettupalayam and immediately strike an unlikely friendship. But what happens after they go their separate ways, form the plot of this romcom starring Shane Nigam, Pavithra Lakshmi and Basil Joseph.

Dr Janaki turns up at a police station to confess that she has murdered someone, but will only divulge the details of the crime and murder site to a circle inspector. Aparna Balamurali, Harish Uthaman and G Chandunath star in this investigative thriller.

Alphonse Puthren’s directorial has Prithviraj Sukumaran essaying the role of a mobile shop owner, who finds a pick-up truck carrying a load of portable speakers parked in front of his house one morning. He later discovers what’s inside the small boxes are in fact gold bars, and decides to make the most of the situation in this movie, which also has Nayanthara, Roshan Mathew and Baburaj.
