Titled 'Failing, Learning, Growing', the seventh episode of What The Hell Navya Season 2 was about dealing with failures, coming out stronger and developing resilience in the face of hardships. Jaya Bachchan, who regularly features on her granddaughter Nayva Naveli Nanda's podcast, along with her daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda, recalled how she stood by her husband Amitabh Bachchan during the lowest phase of his career, which was also when he was going through a financial crisis.

Jaya Bachchan quietly supported Amitabh Bachchan during their financial crisis

The early 1990s were tough for Amitabh Bachchan after his company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL), was declared insolvent, leaving him with debts worth Rs 90 crore. Recalling that difficult time, Jaya ji said, "We went through different kinds of failures in different phases of my life. When a man is going through a tough phase, it’s nice to just be there and be quiet. It’s nice to be silently standing there and saying, 'Listen, I am here for you'."

She explained that she didn't grumble, ask him questions or advise him all the time, as would have been annoying for him. "I don't know whether I did the right thing or not... If they want your help, if they need it, they will (ask for it)," the veteran actress said.

Shweta Bachchan differs from Jaya Bachchan

Like in most other episodes this season, Shweta had a different approach when it came to supporting life partners. She said, "I don't agree. Sometimes, all a man needs are some ideas. I would like to play a more proactive role as I love solving problems."
