One of the busiest comedians in Tamil cinema, Yogi Babu is all set to make his Malayalam debut with Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. The actor will be teaming up with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph in the film. The film's director Vipin Das broke the news on his social media handle. He dropped a picture with the ace comedian and wrote,"Welcome to Malayalam Cinema. Extremely happy to share my Easter Egg to all. None other than Yogi Babu on board in Guruvayoorambalanadayil (sic)."
The film has a script by Deepu Pradeep of Kunjiramayanam fame and is jointly bankrolled by Prithviraj Productions and E4 Entertainment. Vipin Das is basking in the success of his last film, Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, which starred Basil Joseph and Darshana Rajendran in the lead. The film which was a satire on gender discrimination became a massive hit at the box office.
On the Tamil front, Yogi Babu is all set to be seen in Yaanai Mugathaan, which is all set to hit screens for Tamil New Year. The comedy caper has Yogi Babu in a dual role (one that of Lord Vinayagar himself) and Ramesh Thilak in the lead. Ramesh plays a Vinayagar devotee in the fantasy film, which marks the debut of Malayalam director Rejishh Medila in Tamil. Yogi Babu was last seen in Ghostly, in which he was seen with Kajal Aggarwal.
His upcoming projects include Sathuranga Vettai, Andhagan, Haraa, Maaveeran, Saloon, Ayalaan,Thamezharasan, Soorapuli, Jailer and Jawan. His films are in various stages of production. He will soon be seen in Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan as well. This will be second film in Hindi, after he was seen opposite SRK and Deepika Padukone in the 2013 hit, Chennai Express. Now, his presence in Malayalam films has come as a huge source of excitement for his fans.
