Jawan made a box office Tsunami all over India on its first day. Its first-day income from the country was a whopping Rs 75 cr which is unprecedented in Indian cinema. No film, be it KGF or Baahubali, could stand in front of Jawan. Pathaan, released in January, made Rs 57 cr on its first day. Now Shah Rukh Khan broke his record. According to Red Chillies Entertainment, the worldwide gross on Day 1 stood around Rs 129.6 cr.

Shah Rukh Khan was once the Badshah of romance. However, he modeled himself as an action hero with time. There was a period of failure and he was much criticised. He made a comeback after a hiatus of four years and won Bollywood. Amid this worldwide craze, his favourite state West Bengal also offered much desired numbers.
This state was no exception concerning the craze all over the country. The cinema halls were houseful at 5 am. There were long queues and Jawan was celebrated with songs and music. That was the common picture in different districts. The film was presented by SVF Films in Bengal. Taran Adarsh made a tweet giving details of how the film did in different Bengal districts. In Haldia, Jawan earned Rs 4,86,183 on its first day. The number is Rs 3,79,485 in Durgapur, Rs 3,30,342 in Narendrapur, Rs 2,98,876 in Chinsurah, Rs 3,28,016 in Purulia, Rs 2,21,059 in Coochbehar, Rs 2,27,260 in Jalpaiguri, and Rs 3,35,433 in Roygunj. The film did havoc in Assam as well.
Taran did not mention Kolkata, Siliguri, Burdwan, and Birbhum in his list. However, some sources say the film earned Rs 4 cr in Bengal on the first day. In fact, OTTplay reported that the film aimed to earn between Rs 3.5-4 cr on the first day from Bengal. Previously, the record was held by KGF-2 in Bengal. King Khan shattered all the records.
