Zoya Akhtar's much-awaited reimagination of Archie Comics is all set to make its grand debut on Netflix on Thursday, 7th December and reviews have already begun to pour in. A select few from the Hindi film fraternity, including the core cast and crew of the film, were part of the special premiere that was held a day prior to the release and turns out that the musical comedy has charmed all the top names of the industry.

The guest list included 'Animal' cast members Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol, filmmaker Karan Johar actor Janhvi Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Neetu Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Rekha and Shah Rukh Khan, who attended the premiere with wife and producer Gauri Khan.

While Akhtar's direction and vision have attracted a lot of positive responses, the central cast's performances too have received praise from celebs. In fact, 'Jawan' director Atlee, who was part of the premiere, has posted a long and endearing message for the whole team ahead of the release of the film - highlighting Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda's performances and terming Zoya Akhtar as "highly skilled", the filmmaker has heaped plaudits on 'The Archies'. Calling it a "masterpiece", Atlee ended his long note by saying that he cannot wait to watch the film again!

Atlee would give a special shout-out to Suhana Khan whose performance, he felt, was beyond amazing. And while Khushi Kapoor managed to add depth to her character, her fellow debutant Agastya Nanda was a "breath of fresh air in the film," wrote the popular Tamil film director, who has delivered multiple blockbusters like 'Theri', 'Mersal' and the more recent 'Jawan' in his career. He would also praise the rest of the cast which includes Vedang Raina (as Reggie Mantle), Mihir Ahuja (Jughead Jones), Aditi Saigal (Ethel Muggs), Yuvraj Menda (Dilton Doiley), Koel Purie, Vinay Pathak, Tara Sharma, Luke Kenny and others.

Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, of course, plays Archie Andrews with Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan portraying Veronica Lodge and Khushi Kapoor in the role of Betty Cooper. Zoya Akhtar has co-written 'The Archies' with her long-time collaborator Reema Kagti, and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon.
