With the release of Atlee's Jawan, which broke all box office records with a historic prolonged opening weekend of Rs 250 crore, Shah Rukh Khan completely destroyed all previous benchmarks. But it does not stop here! Following its historic opening and then first weekend, Jawan is currently the third Bollywood movie to earn more than Rs 300 crore in India in 2023.

Jawan box office collection

Following an all-time record-breaking opening on Thursday of Rs 75 crore, Jawan earned Rs 53.23 crore on the second day, Rs 77.83 crore on the third day, and 80.01 crore on the fourth day. The movie brought in an amazing Rs 30 crore on Monday, boosting its total domestic take to a staggering Rs 316.16 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. On Monday, Jawan had a respectable 17.38% occupancy in Hindi-speaking domains, 13.72% in Tamil-speaking areas, and 16.75% in Telugu-speaking regions.

Over the second weekend, the Atlee movie is anticipated to surpass the Rs 400 crore mark in India. Given the lack of any big competition for the movie in the coming weeks, it is set to break more records in the coming days.

Jawan became the first Hindi film to earn 500 crores at the international box office in record time. The first weekend of Jawan's release saw a global box office gross of 520.79 crore.

About Jawan

Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi play the lead characters in the movie. Sanjay Dutt and Deepika Padukone both make cameos appearances. The film also stars Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Girija Oak, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Girija Oak. Directed by Atlee, the film was released in theatres on 7th September, 2023.
