Jawan becomes highest-grossing Hindi film; dethrones Gadar 2

Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan has surpassed the lifetime box-office collection of Sunny Deol's Gadar 2.

Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan has emerged as a winner at the box office! Atlee's first Bollywood movie set cash registers ringing since its release on September 7, 2023. Nearly within 22 days of its theatrical run, the film has managed to surpass the lifetime collection of Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 at the box office. It has created another milestone by becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film in India.

Jawan dethrones Gadar 2 at the box office

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared official box office figures of Jawan on his Instagram handle. The film, directed by Atlee, has become the highest-grossing Hindi movie in India. The total BO collection of the SRK-starrer now stands at Rs 525.50 crore. On the other hand, the lifetime box office collection of Gadar 2 is Rs 524.75 crore.

About Jawan

Jawan marked Shah Rukh's first collaboration with filmmaker Atlee. Nayanthara played SRK's love interest in the movie whereas Deepika Padukone had an extended cameo in the film. The star cast of Jawan also included Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Sanya Malhotra, Girija Oak, Sunil Grover, and more.

What's next for Shah Rukh Khan?

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Dunki. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film will feature Taapsee Pannu romancing SRK. The movie is reportedly headed for a box-office clash with Prabhas' Salaar on December 22, 2023.
