Jawan has set the right expectations ever since the makers released its promos and fans of Shah Rukh Khan couldn't wait to watch it on the big screen. The action drama helmed by Atlee has been released in around 400 theatres in Tamil Nadu, a never-before-heard feat for a Bollywood movie in the state.

The film marks the director's debut apart from Nayanthara and Anirudh. It also features Vijay Sethupathi and a few technicians from the Tamil film industry. It is expected to register a huge opening in Tamil Nadu, something similar to tier 2 Kollywood stars.
Atlee garners wishes from Tamil stars and filmmakers
It's been a while since a Tamil filmmaker directed a huge Bollywood project, and Kollywood has been eagerly awaiting for Jawan. Atlee has been receiving a lot of love from Tamil stars and directors. Many are taking to social media to express their eagerness to watch the movie.
Lokesh Kanagaraj wished the movie a huge success and tagged Atlee, SRK, Nayanthara, Anirudh and Vijay Sethupathi in his tweet. Venkat Prabhu tweeted, "Can’t wait to witness our @Atlee_dir's magic on screen tomorrow!! #Jawaan all da best to the team!! (sic)." Silambarasan mentioned that he is too happy for Atlee and went gaga over SRK's energy. Karthik Subbaraj, Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi among others are a few from Kollywood who wholeheartedly wished Atlee and his team.
New BO records in the offing in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu isn't a place where Bollywood films open to big numbers. But Jawan witnessed a never-before-seen advance booking akin to the reception some of the Tamil stars receive.

The trade is eagerly looking forward to the day-one numbers. Had the speculation of Vijay playing a cameo in the film turned out to be true, the sky would have been the limit for the movie.
